KELLEY BLUE BOOK
Kelley Blue Book is a well-known resource for determining the value of new and used cars. It provides car prices, expert car reviews and other information related to automobiles.
Throughout my internship at Cox Automotive, I worked closely with the Kelley Blue Book team to ensure our user retention rate is high. I started migrating the original login component into a web component so that other microservices won't need to update their package everytime we made a change on the login component, thus removing a dependency.
By following Figma designs, I was able to implement the component's layout and functionality. I worked on the web components towards the end at deployment. By delivering it as a feature flag, I was able to rollback the update during disaster recovery when the login component went down and prevented users from logging in.
Overall, it was a rewarding experience that allowed me to apply my frontend skills in a dynamic team environment. I often worked in parallel as other engineers worked on the backend functionality of the login component, such as Google Authentication and location services. I used React.js, Stencil.js, and Tailwind CSS for this project.
